In equal to the growth of IT companies, BPO’s and other companies, the CONSULTANCIES are growing huge. The areas like Nungambakkam, T.Nagar and many areas having a large number of consultancy service offices which offer jobs in IT, BPO’s and other non-technical sectors. Now it’s a good business of providing offers through the consultancies. The companies need not advertise that they having any openings, it’s enough to just inform to the consultancies about what is their expectations? What qualification? Etc., Then the consultancies itself will conduct an interview based on their client’s requirements and selectively sending their customers to the company.

It has been more than 28 years since India claimed an Olympic gold medal. India last won an Olympic gold at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, defeating Spain 4-3 in the hockey final.

As Abhinav Bindra claimed the gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle event at the Beijing Olympics on Monday, it also brought back memories of the last gold medal, which India won. That win was marred by the fact that most of the western countries had boycotted the Olympics and Abhinav’s win certainly stands above those triumphs.

Today is India’s 61^st Independence Day. She won her independence from British Colonial rule on August 15th, 1947. I am thinking about how my people are celebrating Independence. I have thought a lot about what I will write for this post. What is there to say that has not been said by all the other bloggers, commentators, critics and analysts about India 61 years after the British left? All I know is that I am proud to be from a country that won its right to be independent and free from oppression through persistent non-violence, compassion and love. I’m waving an Indian flag, in my mind I am being carried away by the crowds as they shout “Jai Hind” and a spirit of jubilation fills the air. Be proud to be an Indian.

On the night of August 8, 2008, the sound of heavy footsteps thundered across the “Bird’s Nest” as colossal burning “footprints” marched in the sky along Beijing’s central axis all the way through the Olympic Green to the National Stadium. The Chinese proved their hard work. Let’s see what our country going to do in this Beijing Olympics. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what happens?

The Tamilnadu government is distributing the free color televisions as they announced before. Many areas got that earlier, but some areas they’re getting it now only. Recently they distributed in my area(Parrys). Even it’s small size it’s really some what worthy and because of that, now I got a T.V in my room. But paying the cable charge double. Thanks to TN government.

The top ranking engineering colleges in Chennai always conduct campus interviews and make their students to get offer.  Once we heard that many companies had a tussle between them because of taking large number of student before the other companies select them, but now that is totally changed in some colleges. We all know that the IT field is little bit down now. So the colleges astonished the students by not getting any placements currently, and also they’re not sending them to the other off campus also, because they’re telling that it’s a prestige problem for them(some colleges) if they send the students out for the off-campus to other places. Now many of them were eagerly waiting for the placements. I guess even if they get an offer they might be joining in the year 2010 only. What happened to IT actually?

As my date of joining is on March 19, 2009, I don’t want to dawdle in home. So I planned to work. Then I got a BPO, named CEEQUENCE TECH PVT LTD., through my friend’s reference and now I’m working here. It’s a transcription job which I’ve to convert the voicemail to a text SMS for the US clients. First I despise to work here, and then I really enjoyed the environment here, my colleagues and the job. Now I’m enjoying here. Learning a lot here, and I hope this experience will some how guide me in many ways when I enter into the software field.

Many of the B.E/B.Tech graduates those who didn’t get an opportunity in a software field and also who got placed in a software company and waiting for their date of joining and also who’re yet to clear their papers are in search of a job in a BPO. But the actual situation is that, the B.E/B.Tech graduates are not getting job in the BPO. Some BPO’s are directly telling that they don’t want B.E/B.Tech graduates, but some are really worse, just for our gratification they’ll conduct some rounds and for no mercy they say something like your communication is not good, you’re not up to our mark and so on and send us out. The actual truth is that the B.E/B.Tech graduates are not stable in this kind of jobs, so they’re not willing to give us job. We can get only if we’ve a reference. So at last B.E/B.Tech are not even worth for BPO’s.

Many software companies are not ready to call the fresher’s who got an offer in their company.  Only few companies called for the fresher’s.  Many got their Date of Joining.  But it’s not now, only in 2009.  Some not even know their date of joining, so many of them trying to get into BPO’s for time being. It’s not an easy task to get a job in BPO for a B.E graduate. All were eagerly waiting for their date of joining. I’m the one among them.

The students who got placed in a software company and started their software career in software concern continuing their 9^th semester of their graduation. I’m sure that they didn’t study like this even during their course of graduation. One feels good and happy once they get placed in a company but its just turns opposite when they enter into the company. The stuff they’re feeding in the company is hectic amount that they should get knowledge in these areas and have to clear the test or assessments they have. After clearing this only they actually enter into the company. So, I wish you all the best for the people entering Software Company.
