tiranga.jpgToday is India’s 61st Independence Day. She won her independence from British Colonial rule on August 15th, 1947. I am thinking about how my people are celebrating Independence. I have thought a lot about what I will write for this post. What is there to say that has not been said by all the other bloggers, commentators, critics and analysts about India 61 years after the British left? All I know is that I am proud to be from a country that won its right to be independent and free from oppression through persistent non-violence, compassion and love. I’m waving an Indian flag, in my mind I am being carried away by the crowds as they shout “Jai Hind” and a spirit of jubilation fills the air. Be proud to be an Indian.
